Claim your life. What do I mean when I say claim your life?
The ways that we prioritize our values and make daily decisions help us to reach our goals and find meaning. Often trauma, grief, or difficulty with processing complex emotions make it difficult for us to be present in our lives and live our utmost potential. Claiming your life means unburdening, healing, and attaining that very potential. Sometimes we need added insight about the impact of adverse experiences or losses in order to access healing. With that insight and added skillsets, people begin to heal and change their lives. My work is dedicated to helping people go through that process. How Do I Work with Clients? I want to help people live authentically to themselves and to live more freely, however that may look for them. When we are stuck or immobilized, identifying the parts of us that are wounded (or acting to protect us from harm) helps us to change. As we approach these parts of ourselves with compassion and curiosity, we can mindfully lead them from a place of our values and desires. Through different types of reprocessing, our burdens become no longer a negative influence on our mental health. That type of healing allows us to be less mentally, emotionally, and physically influenced or drained. We then can claim or reclaim our lives. |
If you are curious about the types of therapy that I use with clients, I primarily use three main approaches: I am also trained in the use of the Flash Technique, which is a less intrusive or distressing way to reprocess traumatic events, as compared with traditional EMDR.

What you may have experienced with other therapists.
The most frequent feedback I hear from clients who have had a less satisfactory experience in therapy is that their therapist listened and asked questions; however, they did not provide them with insight, skills, or in-depth processing that was considered effective. While there is need for both time and space to talk and process through things verbally, there is also need to learn and implement skills to help make successful changes.
